Cherishing the Crisis

The COVID-19 outbreak has certainly taken a toll on our daily routines. This pandemic has resulted in the loss of many lives and the world is fighting round the clock to contain it. Many have been restricted to their homes and families are more closer than ever. Although this crisis has changed the course of our lifestyle, it is worth mentioning few things that we can cherish even during these difficult times.

We have everyone present at the table for breakfast, lunch and dinner. We have a fully alert crowd at the family prayer. Kids are not tired from school or playing outside. Siblings have bonded better with the more time they are around. Spouses are home all day and long pending conversations are being addressed. There are no deadline targets that's so important or a PTM meeting that's not excusable. There is more time to read the Bible and to pray. We have enough time to do our hobbies. The Bible says in Deuteronomy 6:7 You shall teach them diligently to your children, and shall talk of them when you sit in your house, when you walk by the way, when you lie down, and when you rise up. This is a time we get undivided attention of our children to teach them God's Word. "I am so busy" is not a phrase you have to hear. Here is all the time you wanted. God is asking us, what will you do with it?

Well, I know there is anxiety. I know there are mothers and fathers at the front-line making our lives better. There are ones who are suffering and yes my prayers go out to them. We definitely need more prayers for a world in crisis. But to those who are grumbling at home, this time is what you missed out for many years together. This is what you will miss when life goes back to normal. So, sit back and cherish. You needed this break more than you realize it. At the end of the day, just remember that God is in control. Without His permission nothing will happen. So may this isolation be a time you grow closer to Him. Cherish Christ during these perilous times and this crisis too shall pass. Stay Home, Stay Safe and Stay Close to God.
