It was the early morning of 8th March,2014 when news struck worldwide that Malaysian Airlines MH370 had lost contact with ground radar . As of today 1st, June 2014 there is not even a trace of that missing airliner. As I write this blog, I express my profound sorrow with the families of the victims on board. I clearly understand that humanly speaking, there is nothing that can replace the loss of family and friends. But my prayer through this blog is that you may be able to find eternal peace in the One who came to seek and save the lost.
As far as the rescue efforts of the MH370 were concerned,we had witnessed the largest ever search and rescue operation in the history of the planet with several countries deploying their expert personnel from the very best investigation agencies, sophisticated underwater equipment, satelliting imaging, aerial scans and a host of other resources to track the airliner. Numerous theories also emerged with respect to the disappearance from a terrorist attack ,suicide bombing and so on. But none of the technologies or the theories could clearly express the fate of the 239 people on board.Why weren't we able to locate a massive 777 airliner at sea with our very best technologies and expertise of the 21st century? What went wrong on that fateful day? Who is to be blamed for all this chaos? There are countless questions in the minds of many around the world that go unanswered.To answer all of this, I think we already have very good minds scattered across the globe doing their very best. But the question I would like to address today is about a similar disappearance that is foretold in the Bible that involves millions of lives and catastrophic events unseen ever in history.....'The Rapture'
Imagine all of a sudden you find the pilot of your aircraft goes missing, your best friend no longer attend your calls , your spouse,children and a lot of people go missing.Mass disappearance..!!. Yes, this is what the Bible talks about. We are going to witness the disappearance of millions of people across the globe in an instant. Rationally speaking, Is that even possible?.Well, today we have technology systems to forecast weather , signal the formation of a cyclone/ hurricane and so on. But technology and science has its limitations as well. No technological invention could predict or prevent the occurrence of the massive tsunami that struck the coast of Thailand in 2011 or the typhoon that devastated the Philippines very recently. Does it mean that nature has its own course of action and man is independent of its control?.If man cannot control his very own creations or the nature that he sees around him, How will he be logically able to control the supernatural ?.A definite NO...!!!
Since the beginning of time, there have been instances of people disappearing. For example, the Bermuda triangle mystery was once such phenomenon that went unexplained for decades until recently.I am talking about a disappearance that is clearly foretold in the Bible. It is going to be a certain event and It would be a life changing event for many.The Rapture is the gathering of believers of the Lord Jesus unto himself. It is a heavenly call signified with a loud trumpet from the archangel when those who died believing in the Lord Jesus would rise first, followed by those who are alive on earth.
The Bible says in I Thess 4:16, 17
"For the Lord Himself will descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of an archangel, and with the trumpet of God. And the dead in Christ will rise first. 17 Then we who are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air. And thus we shall always be with the Lord."
This is the greatest hope for a believer in Christ that he would be in the presence of his Lord forever with this event.And even if he dies, it is certain that he would be gathered into the Lord's presence.The Lord can gather his beloved people and bring them to Himself even from the most remotest places on earth. The deepest seas or the highest mountains are not a problem for Him to gather His children unto himself.
The Rapture would launch the greatest search operation ever in the history of the planet.Like the MH370 disaster, not even a trace of those who disappeared would be found. But the good news is that you can also be a part of this life changing event. You have a chance right now to make a decision regarding your future. Isn't that wonderful?.The choice is definitely yours. Do you wish to stay back on earth and perish or Do you wish to be a part of this mega event that can change your life forever ?
The Lord Jesus comes to gather his beloved children. Would you like to be part of His beloved fold? You too can be if you simply believe in Him. Accept the Lord Jesus Christ into your hearts and confess your sins before Him. He can wipe away all your sins. He died just for you on the cross. There remains no more sacrifices or good deeds that can please God. It simply has been already done by Lord Jesus with his death as the ultimate sacrifice for the sins of all mankind. We just have to confess our sins and ask Him for forgiveness.He will surely come into our hearts and grant us eternal life.
Jesus said "I am the resurrection and the life; he who believes in Me will live even if he dies"
There are going to be multiple events in the world just like the MH370 disaster. It can be a natural calamity or an accident. Life is simply unpredictable. We really do not know how things will turn out to be in the next moment. It simply is a big question mark. For such an unpredictable life, If somebody would tell us about a sure event wouldn't we be prepared for it?. The Bible has clearly foretold about the future. The question is ' Are we prepared for it'?
We have certainly planned a lot of things for the future, bought shares, invested in properties, insured our life etc. But the irony is we do all these for a temporal life that can end at any moment. The biggest question is If you die today, Where will you spend your eternity?. You cannot buy eternity with money. If then, only millionaires would get to heaven. But the good news is that even the greatest criminal and the poorest person can get to heaven irrespective of his background, if he would only believe in the Lord Jesus and accept Him as Lord into his heart.
Would you embrace Him today? Would you kiss the feet of Him who bled for you? Would you freely receive Him into your hearts?....He is waiting to wipe away all your sins with His blood and make you anew, fill you with His eternal peace and joy..He is waiting at the door of your heart...Would you make that life changing choice right now?...Remember, He is coming back again to take you to his home..Don't miss this chance..!!!!
